Vellano began with a journey — and a question.

Jay, our founder, spent years traveling between New York, Paris, and the heart of Italy’s leather valleys, driven by a single curiosity:
"Why is it so difficult to find shoes that truly honor craftsmanship?"

In the USA, he saw a market overwhelmed by mass production and fast fashion — shoes that looked good, but didn’t last.
In Paris, he found inspiration in timeless design, an obsession with form, detail, and elegance.
In Italy, he stood inside family-run tanneries and artisan workshops, where leather was still treated like a living material — stitched, shaped, and finished by hand, not machine.

Jay realized something powerful was missing:
A brand that blends European heritage craftsmanship with the needs of the modern wearer — quality, comfort, individuality, and lasting style.

That idea became Vellano.

Each pair is made from ethically sourced, full-grain leather, hand-finished with care, and designed to be as enduring as the story behind them.
